E3 2016 – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Even though Nintendo didn’t have a traditional event at E3 this year, it doesn’t mean they didn’t have anything to show. On day one they dedicated 95% of the Nintendo Treehouse stream to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

I decided to watch everything they had to show and I compiled six hours of awesomeness into just seven minutes for your viewing pleasure.

Was there something that you really liked the look of? Leave a comment below!

E3 2016 – Breath of the Wild Map

I was catching up on my Nintendo Treehouse earlier because I missed the last hour and a half. It was during the “Beyond the Plateau” video that I noticed more of the map was being shown.

I figured it was a good idea to get some screenshots and try to put it all together. I think this is a pretty accurate representation, even though I’m missing the upper north-west corner.

Considering The Plateau was all that was available in the demo and it was mentioned it’s far too big for the attendees to see it all… That’s a pretty damn big map!

E3 2016 – EA Play

This year I decided to watch the EA event for E3. I figured that with Nintendo not joining in with a Digital Event, I need more content!

What did you think about what EA had to show? Leave a comment below!

GTA V – Gonna Take A Walk Outside Today

I was up one night and had nothing to do. I turned on GTA V but wasn’t really feelin’ it. I decided it would be a good idea to walk from the southern to the northern most tip of the mainland. The Next thing I know It was 6:30am and bright outside.

If you’re feeling brave and have 2 hours 8 minutes and 53 seconds to spare, this here is the fully cut together, unabridge version where I get hit by two cars and mauled to death by a mountain lion. (Go Wildcats!)

WarioWare: DIY – The dirty Dozen

I remember being impressed with WarioWare, inc.: Mega MicroGame$! the first time I saw it. It was in the means of a flash game advertisement and/or competition. It’s hard to remember exactly what it was but it made me want the game.

I enjoy all the WarioWare games but the one I played the least is the one I feel I should have played more than any other, WarioWare D.I.Y.

When Super Mario Make was just a pipe dream in every Nintendo fanboy’s eye, D.I.Y. gave us the tools to make our own microgames. See what I did there? Mario Maker… Pipe Dream… *cough*.

Sure it was a little flawed and missing some key functions and mechanics, but it still made it possible for the creativity to flow. And here I am now to showcase the twelve, count ’em, twelve microgames I actually finished making.

Before we get started I’d like to let you know how I came across my copy of the game. In April of 2010 Kotaku Australia ran a competition for Splinter Cell: Conviction. I don’t recall the prize, I assume it was a copy of the game. A quick google search just now and I discovered the prize was actually A Splinter Cell: Conviction Xbox 360 console bundle. To enter you had to have a real world photo with the stylised Conviction writing on walls, along with the Kotaku logo. This was my entry:

Wario made Fruit Ninja!

I was sitting on the crapper playing WarioWare: Touched. If you ask me about it, I’ll deny it. Deny that I was playing on the john that is… No shame in playing WarioWare.

Anyway…

I was playing Mona’s Cute Cuts microgames. (Just between you and me, Mona’s pretty hot yeah? Probably only second in hotness to Goombella.) Then I noticed this microgame!

So did Nintendo inspire the Brisbane based Halfbrick Studios? Without a shred of evidence I’m gonna say yes.

I smell a lawsuit…

I suck at NBA 2K16

I’ve been playing NBA 2K16 for a few weeks now. The first thing I did was make my favourite team, the Perth Wildcats. If you haven’t yet, you can see all about it here.

I do suck at this game, but not in the conventional way. At first I was playing on the difficulty of Rookie. I must admit, even though this was my usual habit of choosing the easiest difficulty possible, I kept winning games. And I don’t mean just winning games. I was beating the absolute crap out of every team I versed.

To try and rectify this and make the game a little more interesting I changed the difficulty setting to Pro. I’m about nine games into my eighty-two game season and I still seem to be winning pretty much every game. The exception being when I verse a team who is known to excel, such as Golden State, who Steph Curry plays for or LeBron with the Caveliers. I’m not just losing these games. I ‘m getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter. Actually it’s not even a silver platter. Or bronze platter. More like a ‘did not place’ platter.
