and i also think its pretty rad. there are alot of people who dont have the skills to hit 9 buttons and pull off double jumps to reach insanely high platforms. every gamer is different and the ones that have the most problems playing the games are the ones the developers need to be looking at. if they can make it easy and fun for them then they can be assured it will be intuitive and playable by anyone.

watching the 'way' in which a person struggles with multitude of controls and difficult gameplay is a valuable resource for game development.

Its awesome to hear someone talk about what its like to be a gamer who is bad at video games. I suck at video games....and sports for that matter, not in a complete and absolute way but enough that it typically interferes with game enjoyment, not to mention completion. I remember this one PS 1 game I had been watching my boyfriend play and it was a puzzle game in a resident evil sort of style and it looked really fun/interesting. I picked up the game to give it a shot one day alone at the house, that was my first mistake...no one to ask questions. You wake up in this refrigerated room and i died by freezing to death about 7 times a total of 15 min since i could only figure out how to walk in circles. This circular walking impaired my ability to reach a door and leave hence not freezing to death. The controls were counter-intuitive. Although i did eventually figure out how to walk straight, my interest was pretty short lived. I generally really enjoy playing games even if I'm not any good at them. There is a suck to fun ratio, as in, how much dose my suck factor interfere with my fun factor and for how long (learning curve).

I love the idea of getting reviews of games from the perspective of someone way down here in my league....ish.
